Constitutional Reforms in the View of the Pupils

On 20 March 2008, the Law Foundation of Armenia in cooperation with “The Future is Yours” Charitable NGO organized a discussion on democracy, civil society and the protection of human rights for the pupils of school # 55 after A.P. Chekhov. Miss Syuzanna Soghomonyan, lawyer of the Law Foundation of Armenia facilitated the discussion.

Pupils of the 10th grade participated in the event, which was aimed at involving the pupils in the legal life of our republic, as well as informing about the necessary preconditions for the formation of the civil society, as well as to answer to the questions of concern of the pupils.

During the discussion the pupils introduced the constitutional reforms, which they had examined, and raised the key issue on shortcomings and gaps in the legislative sphere, as well as presented their points of view and recommended their solutions.

At the end of the discussion LFA announced a contest “Constitutional Reforms in the View of the Pupils.”

Later, the pupils presented 5 written reports by six authors, in which they tried to present a comparative analysis of the constitutional reforms..

Summarizing the results of the competition, representatives of the Law Foundation of Armenia welcomed the pupils’ knowledge about the Constitution and their unique and interesting ideas and approach about the country’s main law..

All six authors of the above five works were awarded certificates and prizes by the Law Foundation of Armenia.
