The final Oral Round of the Regional Scientific Conference for the law students “Implementation of the Republic of Armenia 2009-2012 Anti-Corruption Strategy and Implementation Action Plan as an Effective Tool to curb Corruption” took place in Gyumri Advocacy and Assistance Reception Center at 11:30a.m., on 17 December 2010. On the assumption of the fact that organization of events aimed at educating the youth and young lawyers of the RA attaching importance to the existing problems of corruption and the international experience on combating the corruption is one of the main direction of the activities of Gyumri Advocacy and Assistance Reception Center operated by the Armenian Young Lawyers Association, Gyumri AARC had organized the above mentioned event.
The Conference consisted of two rounds: written and oral. 6 students from the law schools of Shirak Marz had applied for participation in the conference. 5 applicants introduced their reports in time. In compliance with the official rules of the conference, the authors of these 5 reports were authorized to take part in the final, oral round. The participants introduced their papers, which referred to the 2009-2012 Anti-Corruption Strategy, the existing corruption problems, and suggest their ideas and solutions of the problems. A jury of well-known advocates in composition of Mr. Gagik Margaryan, Prosecutor of the Prosecutors office of Shirak Marz of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Gayane Martirosyan, representative of USAID MAAC Activity, and Mr. Marat Atovmyan, Head of Yerevan AAC evaluated the oral reports of the young lawyers.
Anna Martirosyan, 4th year student of Gyumri Branch of International Educational Academy won the prize for the “Best Written Report” of the Regional Scientific Conference for the law students “Implementation of the Republic of Armenia 2009-2012 Anti-Corruption Strategy and Implementation Action Plan as an Effective Tool to curb Corruption.” She was recognized the third in the oral round of the Regional conference as well. Lawyer Ara Gharagyozyan won the second prize. Lala Hovhannisyan, 2nd year student of Gyumri Michael Nalbandyan State Pedagogical University was recognized the winner of the Competition and was awarded the prize “Best Orlaist” of the Scientific Conference.
The winners received valuable prizes and corresponding certificates. Participants of the written round of the Conference received participation certificates as well.
